(if it’s your first time here… check out my motivation page)

ok… so it’s been awhile!  I’ll try and keep this one to quick details incase you don’t know me or we haven’t caught up in a long time.  Today’s the first day of class of my last term of school… there’s a bittersweet taste to that but for some reason, I feel really excited about putting together a class schedule that will really make it one that’s enjoyable so that I can finish well.  There’s lots of things that I’m excited for this term… ministry on campus, hanging out with my classmates, getting to know the frosh, and definitely lots and lots of sports!  You would think that you’d want to make your final year relatively laid back and easy to get through, limiting your involvement especially when you wonder how one could contribute to the school, community, or anything in a single semester before you’re done.  I think it’ll quite the opposite, in that this is the time that I can contribute the most through my experience especially since it’s our last chance to be a student on campus.  Don’t let any opportunity to be a blessing pass by, no matter the circumstance.

Leading up this new year, I flew out to west and tucked away at Pioneer Lodge in Sundre, Alberta was the National Student Leadership Conference held by InterVarsity Christian Fellowship.  5 days that involved manuscript bible study, evening worship sessions, and a whole lot of enjoying God’s creation.  We went skating on a pond, played a massive east vs. west broomball game, horseback riding, snowshoeing, and some of the lucky ones got to try out ice climbing.  Lots of amazing conversations with staff and students across the country and even a kiwi who happened to know who I was before we even met!  Coming into NSLC, I had a lot of questions running through my head about post-graduation plans, and even what it means to be a final year student on campus, but through the manuscript studies, talking with others that were struggling or once had struggled with the same things as I am, God did not tell me what I wanted to know, but rather exactly what I needed to hear.  To sum it up, following Jesus is going to be hard… but it’s so worth it and is very, very good!
